Oops

Looks like they both have taken turns in the opposite direction.

Rocky now says:
As this administration continues to pursue policies completely contrary to the laws, treaty obligations, and fundamental values of our nation, we need to take a stand and loudly proclaim our values as patriotic Americans. The principles upon which our nation was founded require a withdrawal from Iraq and full accountability for President Bush and this disastrous administration.

Oh yea, and he is calling for Bush to be impeached.

I'm trying to be open-minded, but I'm having the hardest time associating patriots with people who strive for failure in Iraq and cry "impeach Bush." What fans do you want in the arena when you down in the 3rd quarter and they're yelling "get the players off the field" or "send the coach to the lockerroom." I swear.......that's the same thing the OPPONENTS are yelling. That just doesn't sit well with me....if you want to cheer for the other team--fine, but I question whether you are a good fan or true patriot........Josh, I know you love our country--but that's what I'm struggling to understand--even after all that you have written.....It just doesn't feel right.

To reiterate--I'm not questioning your patriotism.......I'm just informing you of why your view is hard to swallow.........I know you too well to question your patriotism.

What turns has Mitt made in the opposite direction?.........if you are referring to his "flip-flopping" there really isn't much of a story there...granted, the media has fabricated stories on his so called "flip-flopping."

The biggest flip-flop we've seen in the last couple of years is Democrat support for the war (it amazes me that Hillary and Edwards voted for war, but changed their tunes as soon as they saw a political opening). To me, that's a bigger story than anything Mitts done.

I have more respect for people who were always against the war, like Josh. What did the Dems of Congress think? That it would be a walk in the park? Did they say--"Hey! I can vote for the war, but when things get rough, I can forget about the stance I took and attack Bush--that'll make me look good."

Football analogies work in almost every situation. But not in this one.

First off, we don't know where the goal is. Second of all, nobody gets killed in football. If our favorite players were dying, then would probably be shouting 'get off the field!'

Also, how the heck do we know if this is the third quarter? There are some who might say the game has just begun.

This isn't a game. It's not even a war. I don't even know what to call it.

I think it's patriotic to say I don't any more Americans to die fighting a battle we shouldn't be in.

I fear the time will come when people don't want to serve their country because they don't trust their leaders. Fighting for our freedom is one thing but fighting without end for reasons that cannot be explained, that is another matter entirely.

In short, I support any person willing to give their life in service of their country. I just think that the people who put those lives in the line of fire should be accountable for their actions- ensuring it is done only in the most dire of circumsances. And if those people screw up, putting the lives of American soldiers in danger for less than altruistic reasons, which I think they did, I think they should be held responsible.

I really don't know what the best course of action is James. What's happening to our soldiers over there kills me and I just want to understand how, and why we are there, and how we are going to fix it.

You're right though. It is sad to see how spineless some politicians can be. At least I can take solice in the fact that I was against this war from the beginning.

Do you remember that conversation we had at Kent's house before the war? Dude, that's where this all started!

By the way, you're not going to try and blame me when you get a D on some test because you were blogging when you should have been studying are you?

Dude.......all my blogging means that I'm burned out........and ready for spring break to be here.......I'd pop a caffeine pill before I would let myself get a D.

Lastly, James, you are just going to have to come to terms with this. He flip-flopped. It's ok. You can still be his bobby-soxer and recognise that the man changed his political stance. The sooner you stop denying it, (if you get mad reading this that means you're already to step #2!) the sooner you can accept the truth about Mitt.

He's no different than any other politicain. He just happens to have a temple recommend.

What is the definition of a "flip-flopper?" It is someone who changes his views depending on the political winds.......not because of a change in personal conviction.

He DID NOT change his views on gays........as long as we agree on that--I'm done arguing on behalf of his flip-flopping. This was COMPLETELY fabricated by the press from them SELECTIVELY digging up past statements that were taken out of context. He has ALWAYS said that he is against gay marriage.

He DID change his view on a woman's right to choose.

I get less mad after each post....I've come to terms that not everyone has to agree with me.

He changed his moral convictions because of political winds.

    Fippity Mitt Flopney.
