On 4th and 18 with less than a minute to play in the Fiesta Bowl, Boise State proved why they deserved to be there: undaunting guts. Having lived in Oklahoma for almost two years, it probably only takes about 4 days to understand how big The University of Oklahoma football is. Most people in Oklahoma have the fight song as their ring tone. Oklahoma is regarded as the football pwerhouse in the country. Until they met a team from Boise, ID. With a tail back who has scored the most touchdowns of any player in the NCAA all year, and a first year head coach, Boise State did the unthinkable and downed the Goliath known as the Oklahoma Sooners. I couldn't let such a phenomal event like this pass without talking up what Boise State has done. Just last year Boise State posted an amazing year of football making it to the MPC Computers Bowl. A respectable showing for a great team. Should the Broncos orange and blue fly at the National Championship? I say yes, but that decision ads to the debate of a college football playoff set. Oklahoma, who has 7 national championships of their own, say BSU should get Ohio. The only other undefeated college football team this year. Boise State has brought to Idaho what the Irish bring to Indiana, respect. Though the Fightin' Irish have lost their last 9 BCS bowls in a row, they still retain one of the most respected programs in the country. Boise State is fast on it's way. Speaking from experience, most people in Oklahoma honestly aren't even sure where Idaho is on a map. The Broncos just put themselves there. By the way, Dan Hawkins is pretty sorry he took on Colorado, who didn't even win their conference championship. Sometimes the grass isn't always...bluer.
