Is over yet?

Not too many youtube moments. What did you all think?

I don't want any canned responses. Let's here real thoughts.

    I'll start.

I think this was Obama's to lose. He was better tonight than the primary debates during which he seemed a little tacit.

McCain needed a big win tonight. He did well too, but got a little flustered.

All in all, I think this debate will have little impact either way. They both had some hard hits but no Bush-senior-looking-at-his-watch-too-often moments.

I'm bummed. I was hoping to see McCain's head spin around and his eyes bulge out of his skull. But, hey! There's still hope!

    Honestly,
I think you have a very fair assessment. (No, I'm not completely surprised!)

I think McCain had some opportunities he should have really capitalized on. I think Obama was calm for the most part and didn't really delve into his real liberal self.

In order for one or the other to really get a bounce out of these debates, they are really going to have to go at one another and determine a "winner" one of these times.

Josh, it seems to me you are doing exactly what I hear the other Democrats doing... inventing quotes and distorting the truth. You put these words in quotes and attributed them to Sarah Palin, "You know what I enjoyed the most? She took the luxury jet that was acquired by her predecessor and sold it on eBay -- and made a profit!" You did NOT hear her say that, because she didn't say it. What liberal blog did you get that garbage from? What she said was, "I put in on Ebay." She did not say she sold it there and did not say she sold it at a profit. Perhaps she sold it at a loss... but the fact is she sold it...giving whatever price it was sold for, back to the citizens of Alaska. Not only that, by not using it, she saved the fuel, thereby the environment, and saved the citizens of Alaska the cost of the fuel. She also saved them the depreciation that happens to almost all items, which may account for the "loss", you speak of. (Al Gore plants trees to "offset" the huge amount of fuel he uses and calls himself an environmentalist.)

    Debbie,

    Good to hear from you.

Don't be so hasty to dismiss what I noted because you haven't heard it before.

The post was, in fact, about McCain's lies. I thought that would be implicit from the part fo the quote that said 'She'. As far as I know Sarah Palin has not referred to herself in the third person.

The one quote you noted as 'garbage' (which I agree, whole-heartedly is nothing but trash) originated from from such notorious liberal blogs such as FoxNews, CNN, youtube and McCain's mouth on the trail.

See one of many times he stated this lie here:

Sorry if I was unclear on the attribution. Are there any other ones I can clarify?

    One other thing:

You said, "Not only that, by not using it, she saved the fuel, thereby the environment, and saved the citizens of Alaska the cost of the fuel."

First off the plane sold for $600,000 less than she paid for it. So that's half a million the taxpayers swallowed. But that's a drop in the bucket compared to the rest of her record.

Second, the $2.1 million they got from the sale covers less than one one-hundredth of the pork-barrel money Palin campaigned for, took and spent on other projects in her state. That iconic airplane covered just one tenth of the road to the 'bridge to nowhere' that she built even though her precious bridge would not be built. $26 million taxpayer dollars that came not just from Alaskans but from your wallet and mine. The idea that she saved Alaskans money (and emissions) on fuel because they didn't have to fill the plane is also easily covered by the construction of that same $26 million dollar road that no one can use. Not exactly what I would call a 'Maverick' unless by ripping off tax payers is the new 'Maverick.'

She's a liar. And so is McCain.

I got that garbage from the liberal blog known as the State of Alaska.
